Ayurveda Short Film Fest Guidelines

General conditions and guidelines for applicants in competitive categories 

    1. Films produced after January 2023 onwards only will be entertained.
    2. Entries submitted in earlier/ other film festivals will not be accepted.
    3. The Categories under which the films can be submitted are as follows :
      • Documentary
      • Docu-drama
      • Animation & Fiction Films
    4. The Themes under which the films can be submitted are as follows :
      • Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Ayurveda
      • Digital Health – Ayurveda Perspective
      • Ayurveda & Wellness
    5. Delegate Registration for WAC is mandatory, if the short film is selected for the competition for presentation. ( No separate entry fees for ASFF)
    6. The applicant (director / producer) can submit maximum two entries in a suitable category. Separate entry forms are required for each entry.
    7. Films produced in languages other than English must be sub-titled in English.
    8. Captions and credits must be clear, legible and must be within the safe areas.
    9. Organisers :-
      • Will have non-exclusive rights to screen the film entries as and when required for non-commercial screening or travelling versions of the festival and to participate in other national and international festivals in non-competitive categories;
      • Will have the right to use up to 45 seconds of the film footage for promotional purpose;
      • Will not be responsible if the film could not be accessed for watching/ downloading,
      • Reserve the right to reject any entry if found ineligible;
      • Can change the category of the film without any explanation if the film is not found suitable for the category indicated by the applicant.
    10. DVD/pen-drive of films submitted for the festival / competition will be retained by the organisers.
    11. The Director of the film will be awarded in any category as specified.
    12. It is essential to fill all the mandatory columns (with * mark) in the entry form, failing which the entry is liable to be rejected.
    13. The award money will be distributed equally between the producer (copyright holder) and the director. The trophy will be awarded to the director and the certificates will be awarded to both, the producer and the director.
    14. The organisers will not be responsible for violation of any copyright and intellectual property rights/ plagiarism. In case such violation is reported at any stage the film entrants will
      • Have to return the cash prize, trophy and certificate.
      • Be barred in future from participating in the Ayurveda Film Festivals of WAC

     

    How to participate 

      1. Please read carefully the terms & conditions of the festival before filling the form. 
      2. Please fill separate entry form for each film. 
      3. Candidates have to upload the film (in mp4 format) on Google Drive and paste the Google Drive link on the film submission form with General Access of the file set to “Anyone with the link”, so that the link will not ask for permission to open it.
      4. After the successful submission of your online application form, confirmation email will be sent to the film director’s email id and the submission will be shown along with Short Film ID on the Short Film Submission page on the WAC-Manager dashboard.
      5. Before filling the form please keep ready soft copies of 
        • Photograph of the Director (jpeg format with resolution 300 dpi and saved as the director’s name) 
        • 2 still photographs of the film (jpeg format with resolution 300 dpi and saved as the title of the film) 
        • Duly filled Synopsis form in text format. 
        • NOC from the Principal/Director/HOD/ Head of the academy/ Institute if (in case the institute is involved) 
        • Printout of the registration form and response page should be carried along by the participant. Registration ID and entry form f.Pen drive containing: 
          • Copy of the film in mp4 format. The film should be saved as the title of the film. 
          • Synopsis of the film in 250 words in English (in MS doc. file on prescribed format). The synopsis should be saved as the title of the film. Scanned copy will not be permitted. 
          • Script of the film (in MS doc file). The script should be saved as the title of the film. Please do not send the hardcopy of the script. 
          • 2 still photographs of the film. The photographs should be saved as the title of the film (in jpeg format with resolution 300 dpi). 
          • One photograph of the director. The photograph should be saved as the name of the director (jpeg format with resolution 300 dpi). 
        • Hardcopy of the synopsis of the film in English in the prescribed format.
        • Certificate from the Principal/Director/HOD (Only for the students or the institutional employees) 

      Selection for the festival

        1. A Nomination Jury will recommend the films for the festival and the Award Jury will select the films for awards. The decisions of the Jury will be final. 
        2. The Ayurveda Film Festival will be conducted (tentatively on 13th and/or 14th of December during the WAC. (In exclusive auditorium, 16 hours, ) 
        3. There will be screening and scrutiny of the nominated films for the competitions by the nomination jury. However pre-congress workshop or public screenings are not conducted for the event. For Public projection, separate YouTube channel may be created in later period. 
        4. One representative from the crew of each nominated film of the competitive categories will be allowed and travelling allowances are not given. 
        5. If the award is shared by two or more individuals / organisations, the amount will be equally shared. 
        6. Organisers reserve the right to modify the rules and conditions including number and amount of awards.

        Important to Note 

          1. Entry and registration are through the website link https://ayurworld.org/wac-manager/login
          2. One applicant (director only) may apply for max 2 entries
          3. Please mention the following in the subject column in all Email correspondences – Title of the film, abstract ID and subject for emailing.
          4. Films funded or sponsored or non-sponsored are allowed for competition. However, violation of copyrights and plagiarisms are not entertained.
          5. Duration for films of any category should be not less than 5 minutes and not exceeding 30 minutes. 
          6. Teachers, practitioners, PhD scholars, PG scholars, students, research experts, General Public, NRI, Foreign delegates also can participate in the event. The competition is open to all who register for WAC.
          7. Last date to submit final copy of the entire film – 10th November 2024 
          8. After the initial screening, the selected films are notified by email for final screening during WAC 
          9. Video which is already uploaded on any social media platform is not allowed.
